My daughter attended a Mandarin Immersion school in San Francisco — it was Jose Ortega Elementary. It was 3 blocks away from where we live — love it as it is so walkable — love it because it is a good public elementary school — love it because my daughter loved it, she was very happy there — love it because she was learning and growing in a very nice, protective, supportive, stable, and loving environment — love it because it is my community that I can grow my business with my friends who are moms just like me.
I think SFUSD should help teachers to stay in San Francisco — the “teacher next door program” is nice; but, it is not enough for teacher to stay in SF.
